PRESS RELEASE

The Toms River Township Senior Center will be hosting its “International Luncheon Buffet” on Wednesday, September 12th at 12 Noon.  The Center is located at 652 Garfield Avenue in Toms River.  All seniors, regardless of residency are welcomed to attend.  Tickets are $3.00 per person and guests must also bring a sampling of a favorite dish.  Tone Antone and Gino will perform “Let Me Entertain You,” sprinkled with lots of Sinatra favorites and impersonations.

Jeanette Calao, Senior Center staff member is coordinating the event.  She stated, “We have such a great time each time we do this luncheon.  We draw a nice crowd and everyone enjoys trying out familiar old foods and interesting new ones.  Folks seem so proud to share a little bit of their own heritage with the rest of us this way.”  Calao added, it’s a nice way to spend and afternoon, socializing with friends and sharing memories of youth.  This time, we have Tone Antone and Gino who will also do some impersonations of Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Elvis and more.  Local businesses help support us by donating some door prizes, as well.  This should be a really fun luncheon.”

The Toms River Senior Center is a spacious facility with an active membership.  It hosts numerous clubs, classes and events.  Some transportation is available to township seniors.  The Center publishes its own monthly newsletter.  Membership is free and staff personnel are trained to assist seniors with numerous issues and concerns specifically facing the older adult population.

Registration by telephone or in person is required.  Please let staff members know what kind of dish you would like to bring.  The telephone number is (732) 341-1000 X 8460 and 8461.  Call with questions and to register Monday through Friday 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
