You may obtain a license for your dog or cat at the:

DOG LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

All dogs in the Township of Toms River seven months of age or older MUST have a license each year.

Licenses run January to January. ALL dog licenses must be renewed each January.

A valid rabies certificate (must be valid for the entire year the license is issued)

A valid veterinarian certficate if the dog has been spayed/neutered.

The cost of a license is:

$10.00 if the dog has been spayed/neutered
- - WRITTEN VET PROOF NEEDED - -

$15.00 if the dog has not been altered

Late fees are charged as follows:

February 1st until March 1st - $5.00 (plus the cost of the license)

March 2nd until December 31st - $10.00 (plus the cost of the license)

Failure to license your dog may result in a
$50.00 fine for each offense


CAT LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Licenses run June to June. ALL cat licenses must be renewed each June. Cat licenses for 2008 can be purchased starting June, 2008.

A valid rabies certificate (must be valid for the entire year the license is issued)

A valid veterinarian certificate if the cat has been spayed/neutered.

The cost of a license is:

$9.00 if the cat has been spayed/neutered

$12.00 if the cat has not been altered

Late fees are charged as follows:

July 1st until August 1st - $ 5.00 (plus the cost of the license)

August 2nd until May 31st - $10.00 (plus the cost of the license)

Failure to license your cat may result in a
$50.00 fine for each offense
